Turbocharger Speed Sensor TS-180

Optimum Turbocharger performance is a critical ingredient of success in the highly competitive world of rallying and saloon car racing.

Turbocharger speed is essential knowledge for both developers and competitors. Under speed the turbo and you loose performance, over speed the turbo and you are out of the competition as the impeller explodes. Over speeding is controlled by a waste gate that opens to channel surplus exhaust pressure back to the car’s exhaust.  Inlet manifold pressure provides second order information, but can’t cope with partial or complete vacuum on the inlet impeller.

The TS-180 senses the blades on the compressor impeller and is designed to interface with a data logger, ECU or tachometer. The TS-180 has a fixed divide by 10 plus a user configurable divide by N, where N is the number of blades.

The TS-180 is very easy to install and does not require calibration.
